Sex Therapy in Tysons, VA
Sex therapy is a specialized form of counseling that aims to improve or resolve problems related to sex and intimacy. Sex therapists are trained to address a wide variety of issues, ranging from sexual dysfunction, to identity and orientation issues, to desire discrepancy in couples, to name a few. Sexuality is complex and sexual problems are often multi-dimensional, so sex therapy usually involves examining various aspects of your life rather than solely talking about sex. It’s important to find a therapist who you feel comfortable speaking openly with so that you can identify the root cause(s) of your concerns and start making the changes you want to see. Whether you’re looking to overcome erectile dysfunction, become more comfortable communicating about your needs and desires, or reclaim a healthy sex life after experiencing sexual trauma, I’m here to help Tysons, VA residents rediscover joy with shame-free sex therapy services.

However, sexual problems are not trivial issues—your relationship, your mental health, and your overall quality of life can begin to suffer when you’re dealing with sexual issues. Your sexual health deserves the same care and attention as the other aspects of your wellbeing, and I take great care to make the process as comfortable as possible for you. Don’t let the fear of awkwardness keep you stuck in the same rut. We’ll get through it together, and you’ll come out on the other side feeling more confident in communicating about sexuality. Online Therapy in Tysons, VA
Online therapy, or teletherapy, is simply ‘regular’ therapy that takes place virtually instead of in an office setting. Offering a variety of benefits, online therapy is designed to meet you exactly where you are and allows you to access more specialized services, such as sex therapy. It offers a convenient and accessible solution to busy professionals in Tysons, VA who may not have time to leave work and navigate traffic to attend a sex therapy appointment. Instead, you can get back to your day after your appointment, saving yourself the time, gas, and stress of the commute.
Another benefit of teletherapy is the ability to connect with a therapist who meets your exact needs. Instead of limiting yourself to local options, online therapy allows you to connect with any therapist who is licensed in your state. This is especially appealing to sexual minorities or individuals who have identities that are commonly misunderstood. Teletherapy opens doors all across the state, so that you can connect with a therapist who is LGBTQIA+ affirming, kink aware, and affirming of alternative relationship structures. You shouldn’t have to resort to identity concealment in therapy, and with teletherapy, you don’t have to. For residents and professionals in Tysons, VA, accessing affirming sex therapy has never been more convenient.
Get Started With Sex Therapy in Tysons, VA
Getting started with sex therapy in Tysons, VA is easy—I promise! For help with sexual problems and intimacy-related concerns, reach out today to schedule a free consultation. We will talk briefly about what brings you to sex therapy and what you’d like to be different as a result of our work together. You will also have the chance to ask me questions that will help you determine if I’m the right fit for you. I will then share my insights, how I would work with this problem, and what you could expect our work to look like if you choose to work with me. You are not obligated to make a decision or to move forward with me on our phone call. If the vibe feels right and you’d like to move forward with me, we’ll schedule an intake within the next 1-2 weeks and get started on improving your sexual wellness!
I suggest starting out with weekly or bi-weekly appointments for the best progress to occur. I find that starting out with less frequent sessions tends to progress slowly, as it will take some time to develop rapport and to fully assess the bigger picture of the factors that are influencing your sexual problems. Clients are most successful when they actively work towards their goals in between sessions. I will provide homework or suggestions on what you can work on or implement in between appointments, but you’ll never be asked to do something you don’t want to do. I may challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone, but I use a collaborative approach to make sure we are on the same page and that you’re in agreement of any homework or suggestions I provide. I want to see you succeed, and our appointments will be tailored to your unique needs. Sex therapy isn’t always ‘easy’ work, but it’s work worth doing! Reach out today to get started with online sex therapy in Tysons, VA. I look forward to hearing from you.
