Online anxiety therapy in Virginia
Trauma-informed therapy for chronic worriers
& the highly sensitive
You navigate everyday expecting the worst and you’re constantly second guessing yourself. You’ve been labeled as “too sensitive” before, so you try not to appear as tense as you actually feel. By the end of the day you’re impatient and irritable, and it seems like it comes out towards the people you love most.
You get in bed tired but wired; unable to sleep because you’re re-playing toady’s events, going through tomorrow’s to-do list, or overthinking a future scenario that might not (let’s face it, probably won’t) even happen.
You feel guilty because you didn’t realize how overstimulated you were until you lost your temper on someone important to you.
You’re here because you’re stuck in a cycle you don’t know how to break.

You’ve even found yourself worrying about not worrying.
Relief is cut short because you don’t feel “right” if you aren’t stressing about something. Relaxation is unfamiliar to your body and it is showing through muscle tension, headaches, and digestion problems.
You wish you could let go of your anxiety, but you’re afraid you wouldn’t be motivated enough to get things done to your standards. Besides, how would you prevent bad things from happening if you didn’t have anxiety? You may feel down sometimes too, because you feel doomed to a future of this.
I'm here to tell you it doesn't have to stay this way!
Anxiety therapy can help you…
Become more comfortable sitting with difficult emotions
Develop new ways to manage fears, worries, and panic symptoms
Let go of perfectionism and lean into the authenticity of imperfection
Overcome people pleasing behaviors and prioritize your needs
Assert your boundaries without apologizing or feeling guilty
how i can help
You don’t have to keep navigating everyday on high alert.
What would life be like if you weren’t constantly on guard?
Perhaps you’ve felt this way for so long that you can’t imagine living any other way, and yet you know something has to change. You’re tired of anxiety preventing you from enjoying life and you want to start feeling like yourself again.
Not sure what “feeling like yourself” would even be like? That’s ok! I’m here to help you get out of your head and into the present so you can learn how to engage with life as your authentic self.
Through therapy for anxiety, you will learn how to slow down and honor your needs so that you can create the balance in life you’re looking for. Together, we will explore what factors, thought patterns, or underlying beliefs might be fueling your anxiety. I will work with you on un-learning these unhelpful beliefs and developing new empowering insights. Our work will also include learning how to navigate life in a more relaxed, grounded body.
Sometimes anxiety is connected to deeper issues, such as traumatic experiences or attachment wounds. As a trauma-informed anxiety therapist, I will teach you about your nervous system and the role it plays in your anxiety.
